Feng Shui is the system of managing the 'sea' of light and oxygen we swim in every day. It is an ancient Chinese analysis of the subtle connection between our every day environment and the quality of life each of us lives. Feng Shui is based upon the existence of "Qi" (pronounced 'chee'). Qi (sometimes spelled as Chi) is invisible energy that surrounds us at all times. You may not always able to see it, but it can be calculated. Think of fish swimming in an aquarium - they are intimately affected by the water they live in and I'm sure they don't stop to consider this fact. Take a fish out of it's environment, or change something in the water and we all know what happens! You and I are exactly the same. Our environment (the land, air, light and structures surrounding us) has a huge impact on the quality of our lives and the ability to obtain or sustain our goals, and to establish the quality of life we each experience. |
The flow of this invisible energy (Qi) in our surroundings profoundly affects the way things unfold in our lives. None of us is a victim. We each choose our homes and work spaces for conscious and unconscious reasons. We find ourselves in a house, apartment, office or mansion for good reasons. Issues in the place we occupy may mirror our issues. The essence of Feng Shui is to activate the positive "qi" in your environment, cure any negative "qi", and create the right quality of energy to support your goals and dreams. It involves looking at both the exterior and interior of any location or building. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT a new-age type of interior decorating. It is a 4000 year old earth science and mathematical systems, used to analyze the environment and then harness the naturally occurring " qi" found in a particular location. Changes in an environment (usually referred to as 'cures' or 'remedies') are accomplished in a variety of ways which may include changing how you use the space, which bedroom or office you use, artwork, colors used, lighting, water features and 'yes' - the placement of furniture. The most effective 'cures' are those which involve using the items you already have in your own home or office', or using the space in a new way. Feng Shui has gained wide acceptance in the west in the past 30 years and is used successfully by many homeowners, businesses, builders and land developers. "How is the energy of your space affecting the outcomes in your life?" |
Q: WHAT is a Feng Shui Consultation (or "audit")?A Feng Shui consultation (or audit) is a powerful opportunity to change your life by changing your environment. Every consultation is different because it is specific to the unique concerns and goals of the individuals living and using the space examined. Your consultation will provide many valuable recommendations and explanations, which are then used to create an environment which helps meet your needs and realize your goals. |
|
After arriving at your location I ask for a tour of your space so I can match floor plans to what I see and examine the surrounding area. We then discuss your goals and intentions and the reasons for my visit. Then I require space in which to work by myself, so I can focus as I calculate the specific information your home provides. Once completed, we sit together again and I explain my findings and discuss suggested changes and improvements. Residential consultations can take from 2 to 6 hours depending upon the clients concerns, goals and budget. Written recommendations are provided with the detailed copy of your floor plan. Business or commercial consultations often require additional time. Estimates are provided at the initial interview. |
An audit (or Feng Shui consultation), can and should be performed anywhere that people spend time. A consultation can balance your existing environment, help you choose a new home or office, plan a move, or review plans for proposed projects or renovations.
